Howard Ogburn was a missionary in Nigeria from 1962 to 1984

DAVENPORT, FL, August 8, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Rev. Howard Ogburn has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in missionary work.

Now retired, Ogburn dedicated his career to helping others with a respect for all tribes and cultures. He most recently served as an adviser to Ekklesiyar Yan'uwa, also known as Church of the Brethren, of Nigeria; he also functioned as the general secretary of the church for two years. Ogburn's passion for his work developed when he served as a volunteer from 1953 to 1955; he enjoyed working in different countries and experiencing a variety of cultures and languages. From 1962 to 1984, he was a missionary in Nigeria.

An ordained minister, Ogburn holds a bachelor's degree in divinity from Bethany Biblical Seminary. He has studied Latin, Spanish, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hausa, Chibuk and Bura. Ogburn is a former principal of Kulp Bible School and instructor at the Theological College of Northern Nigeria. He attributes his success to his wife and children, as well as passion for what he does.
