Ronald L. Skelley Recognized for Four Decades of Excellence in Teaching and Athletics
Ronald Skelley devoted 35 years to helping young people succeed

BEREA, OH, July 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ronald L. Skelley, a retired teacher for Parma City Schools and retired assistant football coach for Baldwin-Wallace College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education and school athletics.

Mr. Skelley enjoyed a fruitful 35 years in the field of education. He concluded his career after a five-year stint as assistant football coach at Baldwin-Wallace College. Prior to joining the college, he taught social studies for Parma City Schools, where he also served as head football coach for 16 years. Though retired, he continues to share his expertise as a supervisor of field experience students at Ashland University and as a supervisor of student teachers at the University of Akron.

A multiple award-winner, Mr. Skelley was chosen as the outstanding VIP of the Year by Cambridge Who's Who for two years in a row and was honored with the Congressional Certificate of Achievement Award. In 1987, he received the Mary Rose Oaker United States Representative Award and a certificate of recognition from the Special Education Program for Handicapped Children. Inducted into Plain Local School District's Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, he was presented with the Outstanding Teacher Award by Parma Public Schools and the Ohio House of Representatives.

Himself an alumnus of Baldwin-Wallace College, Mr. Skelley holds a Master of Education in administration and supervision and a Bachelor of Arts in government and history. In addition to permanent teacher certification, he holds certifications in secondary education and history and government. He remains a member of the Greater Cleveland Football Coaches Association, Ohio High School Football Coaches Association, National Council for the Social Studies, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and ASCD.
