NORWALK, CA, July 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Francie Quaas-Berryman, Ed.D, Professor of English and Developmental Education Coordinator for Cerritos College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.

A 16-year veteran of the academe, Francie Quaas-Berryman is respected for her expertise in English instruction and program management. She has devoted all but four years of her career to Cerritos College, a public comprehensive community college serving southeastern Los Angeles County. In the dual capacities of English professor and developmental education coordinator, she performs myriad responsibilities. These include teaching English composition, presenting documentation of materials from primary sources, advising students, developing curricula, and managing facilitation services for at-risk students.

Prior to joining Cerritos College in 1999, Dr. Quaas-Berryman lent her talents to California State University, Fullerton, Citrus College, Santiago Canyon College, and Santa Ana College. A native Californian, she was raised and educated in the state. She earned her doctor of education earlier this year from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her master of arts in English in 1996 and her bachelor of arts in psychology in 1990, both from Cal State Fullerton. Additionally, she received an associate of arts in liberal arts in 1984 from Santa Ana College and completed the Writing Project Summer Institute on the Teaching of Composition and Literature at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Quaas-Berryman is also a certified ESL teacher through UC Irvine.

Dr. Quaas-Berryman maintains active involvement in a number of professional organizations. She is affiliated with the California Virtual Campus and the New Media Classroom, and functioned as a co-facilitator of a UCLA teaching colloquium at Arrowhead Conference Center. Most recently, she was inducted into Cambridge Who's Who as a VIP member.
