LA CROSSE, WI, September 1, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Silvana F. Richardson, Dean and Professor for Viterbo University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.

At Viterbo University, Dr. Richardson oversees three undergraduate programs in nursing and dietetics and a graduate program in nursing. She promotes student development and supervises 32 faculty members and 700 students. With 38 years of professional experience, she attributes her success to her motivation to improve the health and well-being of others.

In 1985, Dr. Richardson earned a Ph.D. in Health Education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Certified in higher education leadership, she is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International. She is affiliated with the American Association of University Women and was recognized in 2009 by YWCA USA with an Outstanding Woman of the Year Award. In 1997, Dr. Richardson received an Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award. In the future, she hopes to improve the level of teaching at her university.
