TORONTO, CANADA, September 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Harvey G. McPhaden, Professor for the School of Business Management and Continuing Education at Ryerson University, and a Consultant/Sales Effectiveness Adviser for HGM Consulting, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in his career.

For the past 19 years, Harvey G. McPhaden has imparted real world experiences and taught sales and marketing courses to adult learners in the university environment. He is a proven achiever with accomplishments in facilitation, training, client relationship management, results management, continuous improvement process, and accelerated learning. He is recognized by his peers as a highly skilled coach and mentor able to motivate staff and peers to achieve personal, team and organizational goals.

From 1993 to 2002, Mr. McPhaden worked as a Sales Development Manager for AT&T Canada Inc., and from 1987 to 1993, he was employed as a Marketing Education Manager with NORTEL NETWORKS, an entrepreneurial venture specializing in services sales, marketing and interpersonal communications, and how to effectively use technology to engage the learner/buyer. Prior to that, Mr. McPhaden served as Marketing Director of VELSICOL CANADA LIMITED from 1982 to 1985, where he achieved management quota every year by building strong dealer networks and distributor management business relationships. Earlier employers include MONSANTO, and SHELL CANADA LIMITED, which recognized him with a President's Sales Award for launching roundup across Canada into non-agricultural uses.

Over the years, Mr. McPhaden has continuously met and exceeded delivery and facilitation goals for sales training programs for over 7,000 learners at NORTEL NETWORKS, AT&T, and Ryerson University; created a positive learning environment for the adult learner to acquire and then immediately apply useable skills to impact their on the job performance; and conveyed information in appropriate ways so all learning styles could engage with content and facilitator and apply to their individual learning needs.

Mr. McPhaden holds an MMBA in General Management from AT&T and the Wharton School of Business, and a B Sc. in Geology and Geography from the University of Manitoba. He is a member of the Canadian Professional Sales Association, the Canadian Marketing Association, the Maisie Centre Conference on Technology for Learning Consortium and the International Society for Performance Improvement.
