Dr. Yun Xiao Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Dr. Yun Xiao's expertise is in cytogenetics
Boston, MA, August 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr Yun Xiao, Supervisor at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating commitment, leadership and excellence in her career.
Dr. Yun Xiao completed coursework in Medicine in China and received her Ph.D. from Leiden University in the Netherlands. She has 28 years of overall professional experience. As a supervisor at Brigham and Women's Hospital, she is responsible for supervising technicians, and developing and applying state-of-the art, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) techniques to study chromosome abnormalities in cells of clinical samples prepared from blastocyst-stage embryos, amniotic fluid, chorionic villi, peripheral and cord blood, bone marrow, lymph node, tissue and solid tumor, etc. Her work is very important for diagnosis and treatment. In addition, Dr. Yun Xiao is involved in the training of fellows, residents and students from Harvard Medical School and all over the world. Dr. Yun Xiao also participated in several collaboration projects, one of which was to study the mechanism underlying the development of drug resistance in lung cancer cells.
Dr. Yun Xiao is a member of The American Society of Human Genetics, and the American Association for Cancer Research. She holds a NCA certificate as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Cytogenetics.
