As an Executive Director of Pearson plc, Cheryl L. Steele works in partnership with higher education institutions to solve the most challenging issues they face today - providing rich, web-based learning environments, analyzing learner performance, improving retention, increasing graduation rates, and ensuring student success - with exceptional, comprehensive and learner-centric technology solutions. She is responsible for managing the overall business development for the region for which she is responsible as well as collaborating with the entire team to ensure success in other areas.

Prior to joining Pearson, Ms. Steele worked as an Executive Sales Manager at ANGEL Learning, Inc. for 6 years, where she was one of the early original employees, helping to build the company through her business development efforts and ensuring customer success for long-term growth. Prior to joining ANGEL Learning, she had a successful career in sales, marketing and customer service with Ameritech Corporation (23 years) and Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions (IBM Distributor).

Cheryl was recruited for her position at Pearson Higher Education - Technology Solutions Division, because of her passion for educational excellence - the realization that every student, regardless of learning style, may have the opportunity to learn and succeed in his/her education experience. She attributes her success to her experience in start-up organizations, her sincere dedication to understanding the needs of her clients, perseverance, her ability to "connect with people," and her innate customer service skills.

Ms. Steele received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University.
