Cambridge Who's Who Names Ivy Fisher, MD, Professional of the Year
Dr. Ivy Fisher practices medicine with a focus on autism and behavioral disorders
DALY CITY, CA, August 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ivy Fisher, MD, Pediatrician in practice through Kaiser Permanente and Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California in San Francisco, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Healthcare. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.
Specialized in pediatrics and behavioral disorders, Dr. Ivy Fisher lends over three decades' experience to Kaiser Permanente in Daly City, California. There, she has a general pediatric practice and has a special interest in children affected by autism spectrum and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD/ADD). Dr. Fisher offers consultative services for various healthcare facilities. She is closely involved with organizations such as Autism Speaks, the American Society of Autism (ASA), Families for Early Autism Treatment (FEAT), and Children and Adults with ADHD (CHADD). She has also been featured on KRON-TV 4 San Francisco and Dr. Dean Edell to talk about these behavioral conditions related to children. In addition to her position with Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Fisher has served as an associate clinical professor at the University of California, San Francisco for the past 12 years, where she teaches medical students. For her efforts there, she was presented with a teaching award in 2008.
Dr. Fisher earned her medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine in 1977 and completed her residency in pediatrics at the San Francisco Medical Center. She holds a bachelor's degree in biology and psychology from Brandeis University, earned in 1972, and is professionally affiliated with the California Medical Association. Moving forward, she intends to focus her efforts on autism research, specifically, the proper identification and treatment of the disorder.
