Thomas A. Rago Receives Professional Networking Community's Highest Honor
Thomas A. Rago Named Professional of the Year Representing Oceanography
MONTEREY, CA, July 27, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thomas A. Rago, Oceanographer for the United States Naval Postgraduate School, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Oceanography. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.
A seasoned oceanographer, Thomas A. Rago lends his talents to the United States Naval Postgraduate School. In an effort to apply the science of physical oceanography to naval operations, Rago utilizes his experience to collect and analyze oceanographic data. He and his team study global and regional numerical prediction techniques, which include a focus on increasingly critical polar regions as well as nearshore, coastal and acoustical oceanography to determine their impact on military operations.
Rago holds a master of science in oceanography from the University of Rhode Island and a bachelor of arts in physics from Amherst College. His professional affiliations include the American Geophysical Union and the Oceanography Society.
