Brooklyn, NY, July 06, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Kecia Gaither, Vice Chairman, Department of OB/GYN, Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.

With 20 years of professional experience, Dr. Gaither attributes her success to staunch perseverance. Her responsibilities at the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center include oversight of the OB/GYN Ultrasound Unit, overseeing high risk obstetrical patients, assisting in managing the department of OB/GYN, and conducting research.

Dr. Gaither received her BA in Biology from Barnard College; her MD from SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse; completed her OB/GYN residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center- a Subsidiary of Medical College of Virginia; her fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey; her Masters of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from Columbia University.

Dr. Gaither is a member of several organizations, including the New York Obstretical Society, Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine, and the American Institute of Ultrasound In Medicine. She has been published in numerous scientific journals including The Journal of Maternal Fetal Medicine and The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. She is a reviewer for several peer reviewed medical journals including The Journal of Public Health and The Journal of Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Gaither was an appointee of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to the HIV Planning Council of New York. Dr. Gaither was additionally listed as one of America's Top Obstetrician Gynecologists by the Consumers Research Council of America in 2007 and 2010.
