Michael S. Martin, Ph.D., to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry

BLOOMSBURG, PA, June 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Michael Martin, Assistant Professor of English and Director of the Professional Writing program at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.

With 16 years teaching experience in higher education, Dr. Martin attributes his success to the support he continues to receive from his mentors and colleagues. His responsibilities at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania include teaching Freshman Composition, literature, and directing the new professional writing program. He is currently editing a book and is working to follow that publication with a second book related to his published dissertation.

Dr. Martin earned his PhD in Rhetoric and Technical Communication from Michigan Technological University in 2007. He also has a Masters of Divinity from Luther Seminary in 1988 and a Bachelor of Arts from Dana College in 1983.

In 2009 he received the Outstanding Teaching Award from the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and was the keynote speaker of the Leonard Haas Lectures, speaking of the role of Dietrich Bonhoeffer in a call for the 21st century church. This is the proposed topic for his forthcoming book. He is a member of the Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication (CPTSC), the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing (ATTW), the Rhetoric Society of America (RSA), the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), and the International Bonhoeffer Society.
