Kathleen Scharer, Ph.D., Applies her Nursing Expertise to Ventures in the Classroom
With 11 years of experience in her industry, Dr. Scharer educates nurses-to-be by retracing her own steps to success
COLUMBIA, SC, December 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathleen M. Scharer, Ph.D., Associate Professor for the University of South Carolina, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing education.
With an expertise in psychiatric nursing, Dr. Scharer has brought 29 years of perceptive industry knowledge into her current position as an associate professor. For the last 12 years, she has channeled her professionalism while working with faculty, and educating adults at the University of South Carolina. Moreover, her contribution to the field has been honored with a National Institute of Health RO1 award - an accomplishment that Dr. Scharer considers her career highlight.
Dr. Scharer earned a Ph.D. in nursing science from the University of Illinois. She maintains affiliation with the American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International. Likewise, Dr. Scharer is recognized as a member of the board of directors for the International Society of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurses Foundation. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, and sailing. In the future, there is a certainty that Dr. Scharer will continue influencing young nurses and nurses-to-be.
