Federico Perez Marty Recognized for Excellence in Education
Mr. Marty is a former member of the New York City Council
NEW YORK, NY, December 9, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Federico Perez Marty, Teacher for the New York City Department of Education, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
Mr. Marty has 30 years of professional experience, including 22 years of experience in his current position. Prior to becoming a teacher, he was a radio commentator, an administrator and a librarian. Mr. Marty was also an adjunct professor at Mercy College for three years. In 1986, he became a teacher for the New York City Department of Education. In his position, he teaches physical education and nutrition classes that encourage exercise and good health habits.
A graduate of Long Island University, Mr. Marty earned a Master of Arts in urban and bilingual studies in 1978. He was a member of the New York City Council in 1997 and was the president of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade from 1980 through 1986. Mr. Marty volunteers his spare time to HOGAR, Inc., and hopes to retire within the next three years.
