Jacquie Martin, Professional of the Year, Demonstrates Productivity in Education Administration
Jacquie Hood Martin sites her vice presidency with the City Colleges of Chicago as her greatest career triumph

CHICAGO, IL, November 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jacquie Hood Martin, Vice President, Kennedy-King College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Education Administration. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

In the last five years, Ms. Martin's tremendous passion and determination to educate others has brought her to the forefront of the City Colleges of Chicago. As an expert in academic and professional development, she dedicates her efforts to implementing short and long-term plans for young adults in multifaceted educational atmospheres. Further, she is responsible for managing the college's operational budget, assessing classroom instruction and evaluating course syllabi. Ms. Martin unreservedly believes students ought to continue their higher education; her motivating demeanor has not only led to successes for her students, but has also established her as a professional public speaker, encouraging large groups to pursue their educational goals.

As the administrator of the annual professional development day at Kennedy-King College, Ms. Martin's capacities go beyond the restraints of a four-walled classroom. She is the author of "Fulfilled! The Art and Joy of Balanced Living," the recipient of the Mary McLeod Bethune Leadership Award, and a recognized six sigma green belt. Ms. Martin is an advocate of equality in education and hopes to impress upon others her caring and productive distinctiveness. She draws on inspiration from historical women such as Rosa Parks, whose intrepid decision-making has roused Ms. Martin to push her own boundaries as a woman.

With her mother's unequivocal support, Ms. Martin retained two masters' degrees, one in education technology from Northcentral University and the other in communications from Louisiana Baptist University. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Kappa Delta Pi. The gratification she receives in her work is a constant motivator toward the future; in due time, Ms. Martin intends to reach the presidential position of a university or community college or become the chancellor of another educational system.
