Gwenesia S. Collins Named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year
Gwenesia S. Collins, PharmD, was appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm to serve on the Michigan Board of Pharmacy for a four-year term

WARREN, MI, November 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Gwenesia S. Collins, Chief Executive Officer of Tri-Unity Infusions Services, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Home Healthcare Services. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Gwenesia S. Collins, PharmD, based in Michigan, is the CEO and a Managing Member at Tri-Unity Infusion Services, Director of Pharmacy at POH Regional Medical Center, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Wayne State University, College of Pharmacy in Detroit. Dr. Collins earned her PharmD degree from Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Services.

She began her career at CVS Pharmacy as a staff pharmacist. Two months later she was promoted to Pharmacy Manager and 10 months later she was promoted to Regional Pharmacy Supervisor. After serving 2 years in this position she transitioned into Home Infusion accepting a position with Henry Ford Fairlane Home Infusion. She continued to diversify her work experience by accepting a position with St. John's Main Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacist. At this point in her career, Dr. Collins decided to go into business with her husband and they opened Tri-Unity Infusion Services, LLC which was established in 2005. In 2007, Dr. Collins went back into hospital pharmacy at POH Regional Medical Center where she quickly became the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator and in 2009 became the Director of Pharmacy.

One of Dr. Collins' distinguished honors was bestowed upon her in August 2007 when she was appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm to serve on the Michigan Board of Pharmacy for a 4 year term. In April 2009, Dr. Collins was honored by Florida A&M University, College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences when they inducted her into the Gallery of Distinction. In September 2009, Dr. Collins was inducted into the Cambridge Who's Who Association. Additionally, in August 2010, Dr. Collins was voted in as Chairman of the Michigan Board of Pharmacy.

Dr. Collins is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the Leadership Detroit Class XXXI, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Michigan Pharmacists Association, Safety Net Hospitals for Pharmaceutical Access and Florida A&M University Alumni Association. Dr. Collins is committed to community service and is involved by serving as a Board Member on several non-profit organizations such as: Total Healthcare Managed Care Organization, Hidden Jewels International Ministries and Katie's Wings.
