Robert E. Johnson Named to Exclusive Membership Organization

SHAWNEE, KS, October 06, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert E. Johnson, Ph.D., Dean of Academic Affairs, Professor of Christian Heritage for Central Baptist Theological Seminary, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education administration.
With 31 years of professional experience, Dr. Johnson serves as the dean of academic affairs and as professor of Christian heritage for Central Baptist Theological Seminary. Utilizing his expertise in Church history and the history of western Christianity, he takes responsibility in administering the educational programs of the school, providing vision to academic programs, overseeing the faculty of the library, admissions and two campus centers, and handling budgeting. Prior to joining Central Baptist Theological Seminary, he worked as an associate professor of church history at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1992-1998) and as a professor of church history at Faculdade Teologica de Sao Paulo in Brazil (1979-1992).
Dr. Johnson received his Ph.D. in Church History from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas (1984), his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1977) and his Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies from the University of Richmond in Virginia. He is a member of the American Historical Association, the American Society of Church History, the American Academy of Religion and the Ecclesiastical History Society. He serves as a board member of the Lyric Opera Guild of Kansas City, the Civic Opera Theater of Kansas City, and the National Council Auditions of the Metropolitan Opera of New York. He attributes his success to God's guidance, hard work, creativity, and an incredible network of colleagues. Cambridge University Press has just published his book, "A Global Introduction to Baptist Churches."
