PETERSBURG, FL, October 14, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Stanford Who's Who welcomes Dr. Randy Swanson to the ranks of leading professionals as a result of his outstanding work in the Architecture Industry. As Owner of Dr. Randy Swanson PhD Architect, as well as throughout his brilliant 26 years in the business, Randy has routinely demonstrated the vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be considered among the best.

Dr. Swanson is a registered architect who specializes in sustainable housing and provides a full range of professional services. He offers his services to residential, commercial and industrial clients. His area of expertise is the history and theory of building technology and design with a dominant emphasis upon 19th and 20th Century American Architecture.

Randy served as an Associate Professor in the College of Architecture and a member of the Graduate College at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte from August 1989 - June 2004. He was most recently responsible for teaching architectural design in the 5th year of thesis to students in preparation for professional registration. Dr. Swanson was responsible for conducting in depth case studies of prominent buildings, from ancient to modern, to guide student exploration of the inter-relationships between building technologies, material choices, craftsmanship, built form, and design intentions.

Dr. Swanson worked in the firm of Keck and Keck, Architects, solar residential design pioneers as a draftsman for several private residences. He also practiced in the Washington, D.C. as a project architect for the rehabilitation of several scientific-military laboratories, housing complexes and medical facilities. Randy was responsible for field work, construction documents, cost estimates and overall coordination of several large projects.

During his educational career, Dr. Swanson earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master's degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois. He went on to earn a Master of Science and PhD degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Randy is a member of the American Institute of Architects, St. Petersburg Sunrise Rotary, St. Petersburg Yacht Club and St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts.
