Saginaw, Texas, Insurance Agent Awards $300 College Scholarship to Boswell High School Senior Jeromy Corey
Saginaw TX State Farm Agent Linda Allen awards scholarship to Lubbock Christian-bound Jeromy Corey.

SAGINAW, TX, September 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Saginaw, Texas insurance agent Linda Allen has awarded a $300 college scholarship to Jeromy Corey. He is planning to attend Lubbock Christian University this fall and major in Criminal Justice. "It's an honor to be chosen to receive this scholarship," said Corey, who works full time and was an honor roll student during his senior year at Boswell High School in Eagle Lake, TX. He also plays varsity basketball.

To win the scholarship, Corey wrote an essay, did an interview with Allen and met the requirement of living in a household headed by a single parent. "I know how tough it is to be a single mom and to want the best for your children," said Allen. "I hope that the scholarship will make things just a little easier for Jeromy's mother Sylvia Corey as he heads off to college," said Saginaw TX State Farm agent Linda Allen.

Allen plans to make the scholarship an annual award. To apply for the award, a student must be a senior at Boswell High School, have a 3.0 weighted GPA, good attendance and write a 500-word essay explaining why he or she needs the scholarship and what his or her future plans are.

"I know that Jeromy Corey will be a success. He's an outstanding young man. His mama should be proud of raising a son like him," said Allen.

Allen's other initiatives this year include leading a clothing and food drive for Haiti Earthquake survivors and sponsoring and volunteering at the Kiwanis North Texas Bike Ride and teaching defensive driving classes in Saginaw, TX.
